Hello 2012

Happy New Year!

I thought I'd start by sharing one of my favourite creations from Christmas 2011. I love to do a glazed fruit and nut topping on my christmas cake and I was particularly pleased with this year's version. It tasted pretty good too! 

Looking at the date of my last post I seem to have been away for longer than I thought but its been a lovely break and I'm now refreshed and ready to get to work on lots of exciting projects for the year to come. Over the last week or so I have read some wonderful blog posts reflecting on 2011 and looking forward to 2012, it's inspirational when people allow a glimpse into their hopes and dreams for the future on a personal or business level. 

For my part I have been languishing in the tail end of the festivities, preferring to take down the Christmas Decorations at the last possible moment in order to prolong the enjoyment.

Along with many others I do find New Year a good time to both reflect and dream but I think New Year's Resolutions on the 1st of January seem to come a little too soon for me. Instead I have spent the early days of the new year contemplating gradual change and development and later on tonight I hope to find a moment to put some of these thoughts down on paper. Maybe I should just rename the 12th Day of Christmas my New Year's Day!

One thing I know I would like to to in 2012 is build more of a community on Facebook where we can all share our family's creativity. Children are certainly always happy to see their artwork and designs on screen and its a great way of sharing ideas for creative activities. In order to do this I'll be needing a few more 'likes' so I am going to kick-start my new year with a 'Free Card Friday' promotion throughout January.
